Caterina Gambardella, since childhood a love affair with the enigmatic splendor of jewels
Born in Venezuela in a jeweler’s family, Caterina has always been surrounded by objects d’art and precious stones; her father, a jeweler and gem expert, was the countrywide representative of the prestigious Rolex brand.
Caterina started designing jewels for herself, as a hobby, subsequently for her own jewelry store still in Venezuela. With moving to Europe, to London for a year but finally settling down in Naples, Italy, the encounter with the art world became determinant for her work.
The 20th century art movements and styles enhanced by the fascinating experience and fatal attraction of India are imprinted in Caterina’s design – a unique stile reinterpreting jewelry in decidedly contemporary terms.
